5 DAYS MOUNT ELGON TREKKING

DAY 1 NAIROBI- KITALE
Leave Nairobi by bus to Kitale where you spend the night in a budget hotel. Do shopping for the trip to Mount Elgon.

DAY 2 KITALE – ENDEBES- CHEPKITALE PARK GATE
Take transport to Endebes town then walk to the park gate where you will have packed Lunch. Then continue to Makingeny cave, and Kitum caves then to your first camp.

DAY 3 SAITO CAMP- KIMOTHON RIVER CAMP
Leave the camp have a long walk to the end of Marum road to the last camp.

DAY 4 KIMOTHON – KOITOBOS- PARK GATE
Wake early morning have something warm then attempt Koitobos peak 4155 m [3 hours] above the sea level. Walk down camp for breakfast then continue to the park gate

DAY 5 PARK GATE – NAIROBI
Early morning walk to Endebes for transport to Kitale then take bus for Nairobi arriving late evening.
